Colleen is a lifelong Oak Park resident. She grew up playing basketball at the YMCA, St. Giles and Oak Park River Forest HS. Colleen has been running track and cross country since 1991. While competing for Loyola University, Chicago, Colleen earned her Bachelor of Arts with a major in Social Work in 2003. Colleen worked in many fields including: Foster care, Coaching, Massage and Fitness. Colleen got a second shot at running a few years post-collegiate and competed on the US Track and Field circuit from 2007 - 2012, running personal bests at every distance from 400 - 5,000m. Colleen was proud to participate in the 2007 & 2009 US Championships and to represent the US overseas in the five nations match in 2008. Her heart will always love the Mile and 800m more than any other event.

Most recently Colleen spent 11 years as a sales specialist in the commercial building industry. Colleen left her leadership position in sales in 2019 to pursue JETS full time in an effort to support Oak Park youth. Colleen hopes JETS can be a small piece of the puzzle, in a larger community effort, leading to equitable outcomes for youth that are not predicted by race or income.

Colleen lives in Oak Park with her teenage son. You'll often see Colleen running with their dog, Connor.
